This is Why I Sing

Rudy Fenner is excited to present his first two singles, "Mary Did You Know" and "Hold Us Together", both of which will benefit charities that work the front lines every day to support people who are in need. Scroll down to listen and purchase!

Rudy first sang “Mary Did You Know” over 20 years ago during the Christmas season, as a worship leader at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Ashburn, VA. What he didn't realize at the time was that expectant mothers played the song for the babies that they were carrying, and the babies grew up and shared the song with others. "The wonderment and anticipation of what ALL children can become really hit me. This recording allows me to not only share this song with the world, but to benefit an organization that my family and I have come to love and support, St. Ann's Center for Children, Youth and Families." St. Ann's strengthens and supports families on their journey toward stability by providing  housing, life skills, education, employment counseling, child care and education, and more.

Right now, there is no more appropriate song than “Hold Us Together” because in Rudy’s words, “It is almost all that we have left. Compassion and caring for each other are what binds us through the storms that we are facing at home and around the world.” Proceeds from "Hold Us Together" will benefit World Central Kitchen (WCK)  leads emergency food response teams in times of disaster in America and throughout the world.  They help to provide fresh, nutritious meals to those who are impacted, and work with local leaders to implement training programs, advance food and environmental health, and improve food security. I hope you enjoy the video below that renown photographer and our friend, Chris Briscoe, created to for this effort!

We will also help support The Himalayan Cataract Project which works to eradicate preventable and curable blindness in the developing world. Thanks to the doctors and medical professionals involved in this mission a 10 minute $25 surgery can restore sight to the needlessly blind.

In many cases charities have not been able to raise the funds that they normally would this year because of COVID-19. During this time, the needs are even greater.

Let’s do as much as we can to help these organizations!

Be sure to subscribe above to get updates about future activities (we promise we won’t bombard you!) Subscribe and download both songs by November 30th and you will be entered into a drawing to win a one-of-a-kind music-themed denim jacket!

Special thanks to  Christopher Briscoe, Lindsay Fenner Combs, Jerrell Everett, Courtney Fenner, David Lottahall, Kelly Lottahall, Mark O’Dell, Susan Yantis and members of the worship team at Crossroads United Methodist Church for helping this project come to life.

God’s blessings to you all!
